Clearwater Beach

A few weeks ago my husband Tyson and I decided to plan a spur of the moment weekend getaway. We weren’t sure where we wanted to go but we knew a white sandy beach was a must! We found an awesome deal on a flight to Tampa and booked it right away and let me tell you, you can’t beat the quick Nashville to Tampa flight time of only 1 hour and 45 minutes. I’m not a big fan of flying so I was sold on that one real quick. Thanks, Southwest Airlines! If you haven’t heard, Clearwater Beach was voted by Trip Advisor as the number one place to vacation at in 2016 and now, I certainly know why. Not only is the beach absolutely beautiful but there is so much to do and so so many wonderful places to get your seafood fix. Below you’ll find recommendations of where to stay, what to do, and places to eat. Enjoy!

Quality Beach Resort

Not only is the Quality Beach Resort well priced it’s also in the perfect location… Gulf Boulevard. If you’re booking a trip in Clearwater look no further than Gulf Blvd.  We chose Quality Beach Resort because it had wonderful reviews and was perfect for our budget. One of my favorite things about it was the Tiki Bar area where they serve the most delicious drinks, have live music, and a beautiful sunset view!

Clearwater Marine Aquarium

You can’t visit Clearwater without making a stop at the Aquarium. Since it was Spring Break it was extremely crowded so I highly recommend visiting during their slow season. However, we still had a blast and we were able to see Winter the dolphin. What I loved most about the Clearwater Marine Aquarium were all of the awesome rescue stories I read during our tour. Knowing they rescue and save the lives of sick and injured marine life makes my heart so happy!

pier60Pier 60

Between 5:30 and 9:30 Pier 60 is the place to be! You can watch the sunset from the Pier and enjoy plenty of other fun activities.

Johns Pass Boardwalk

Johns Pass was one of my favorites! Tyson and I rented a scooter and enjoyed our long scenic ride to the Boardwalk. At Johns Pass you’ll find some super cute places to shop, great places to grab a bite to eat, and the best ICE CREAM. Needless to say I was a happy girl!

Palm Pavilion Beachside Grill & Bar

If you’re looking for a place to grab lunch on the beach put Palm Pavilion Beachside Grill & Bar on your list. I recommend trying the crab legs, they were fantastic!

Brunch at Shephard’s Beach Resort

Endless Mimosas and $5 Bloody Mary’s, need I say more? This is by far the best place for brunch and it’s right next door to the Quality Beach Resort where we stayed. We loved it so much that we came back for dinner later that evening.

Adventure is so good for the soul and traveling to new places with the person you love is the cherry on top! If you haven’t treated yourself to a getaway in a while I encourage you to take some time to sit down and list some places you’d like to see and make one of them happen soon. You wont regret it!
